Sfiya
@sfiy_art

Sfiya is a self-taught painter, of Moroccan origin. Young immigrant who arrived in Quebec in 2017, she worked as an architect, interior designer and book illustrator before focusing fully on her artistic career.

Sfiya is part of this new wave of committed artists who believe in the power of art on society and who work for the cultural decolonization of the communities they come from. His approach is singular, more theoretical but no less artistic. The result is eloquent paintings, sometimes benevolent, sometimes protesting, with a notable intellectual depth.

Artistic approach
Sfiya is an intimist painter who offers us close-up shots of her characters. They often face us and intrigue us by their silence. The aesthetic approach of Sfiya is maximalist. The repetition of abstract forms and cultural symbols gives rhythm to her compositions. A very great chromatic power marks the spectators. This rage of the colors marked with the fauvism makes the works easily recognizable and testifies to an undeniable audacity and know-how.
