In 2011, after obtaining her DEC in visual arts and moving to Montreal, Mireille R. Champagne was called by her own ambitions outside of the academic setting. This led her to travel the world and experiment as an entrepreneur. It was in 2015 that she joined Concordia University's Fine Arts program to further her visual research and artistic production. Having always challenged herself to balance her career between her art practice and modeling contracts, she finds this duality a source of inspiration that fuels her production. 

Artistic approach
Mireille plays with the notion of body image and beauty standards in her art. She reveals her experiences and problems as a woman and as a model. Frequently using images from her fashion portfolio, she creates strange aesthetic and garish colors around self-portraiture; it is a way for her to reclaim her own image, distorted and overused within the advertising and social media channel. Along with this deep connection between portraiture and the notion of body image, she continues to push the visual language in her painting by employing conflicting textures and incandescent colors that live organically in a collage cooked up by her travels and encounters.
